Switching Languages in the Automated Attendant

1. Set up the language for the answering Call Routing Mailbox.

  1. 4221-03: Routing Mailbox Voice Prompt Language Voice Mail: Routing Mailboxes: Setup (4221): Prompt Language]
    For the Call Routing Mailbox that will initially answer the call, select the prompt language the caller should initially hear.
    Option Description
    1 [Default] English.
    2 French.
    3 Spanish.
  2. 4231-xx: Digit 01-13 Action [Voice Mail: Dial Actions: Dial Action Table: Dial Assignment (4231): Action]
    In the answering Dial Action Table, assign a GOTO (7) action to an available digit.
  3. 4231-xx: Digit 01-13 Routing Data [Voice Mail: Dial Actions: Dial Action Table: Dial Assignment (4231): Routing]
    In the answering Dial Action Table, for the GOTO action you assigned enter the number of the Call Routing Mailbox that will use the alternate language.
    • This allows the caller to switch languages.
  4. For the answering Call Routing Mailbox, record an Instruction Menu that instructs the caller which digit to dial to switch languages.

2. Set up the alternate language Call Routing Mailbox.

    For the Call Routing Mailbox to which the caller can route, select the prompt language the caller should hear.
    Option Description
    1 [Default] English.
    2 French.

    In the answering Dial Action Table, assign a GOTO (7) action to an available digit.

    In the alternate Dial Action Table, for the GOTO action you assigned enter the number of the Call Routing Mailbox that initially answer the call.
    • This allows the caller to switch back to the initial language.
  4. For the answering Call Routing Mailbox, record an Instruction Menu that instructs the caller which digit to dial to return to the initial language.
