Setting Up Digital Pager Notification

1. Set system options for the digital pager callback number.

  1. 4202-08: Digital Pager Callback Number [Voice Mail: IntraMail: Config: Notification (4202): Pager Callback Number]
Use this option to set the Digital Pager Callback Number portion of the Message Notification callout number for a digital pager.
    • This is the portion of the callout number that is appended to the pager service number.
    Option Description
    N None.
    Digits 12 maximum using 0-9, # or *.
    M Number of messages.
    X Extension number.
    • IntraMail automatically replaces the X command with the number of the extension that initially received the message.
      [Default] = X*M#.
  2. 4202-09: Delay in Dialing Digital Pager Callback Number [Voice Mail: IntraMail: Config: Notification (4202): Pager Dial Delay]
Use this option to set the delay that occurs just before IntraMail dials the Digital Pager Callback Number portion of the Message Notification callout number for a digital pager.
    • Set this delay so the pager service has enough time to connect to the digital pager before sending the callback number.
When placing a digital pager notification, the system:
    1. Seizes the line specified.
    2. Dials the notification number.
    3. Waits the 4202-09: Delay in Dialing Digital Pager Callback Number [Voice Mail: IntraMail: Config: Notification (4202): Pager Dial Delay] interval.
    4. Dials the number entered in 4202-08: Digital Pager Callback Number [Voice Mail: IntraMail: Config: Notification (4202): Pager Callback Number].
The system assumes that the notification number will complete dialing approximately 4 seconds after line seizure. This means that, by default, the Digital Pager Callback Number will be dialed into the pager service about 13 seconds after line seizure.
    Option Description
    0-99 Seconds. [Default] = 9 seconds.

2. Set up the system-wide options that apply to digital pager callouts.

  1. 4202-02: Wait Between Digital Pager Callout Attempts [Voice Mail: IntraMail: Config: Notification (4202): Pager Notification Interval]
Use this option to set the minimum time between unacknowledged or unanswered digital pager Message Notification callouts.
    Option Description
    1-255 Minutes. [Default] = 15.
  2. 4202-07: Send Pager Callout Until Acknowledged [Voice Mail: IntraMail: Config: Notification (4202): Pager Retry Until Acknowledged]
Enable this option to have IntraMail continue to retry a digital pager Message Notification callout until the notification is acknowledged.
    • This option does not apply to Message Notification callouts to normal numbers.
    • [3.01] A digital pager notification is considered acknowledged when the recipient logs onto the mailbox.
    Option Description
    No (0) [Default] Disabled.
    Yes (1) Enabled.
